For immediate release: Aug 18, 2011 Posted by: [DNR] Contact: Eric Eubank Phone: (812) 358-2160 Email: dnrnews@dnr.in.gov Invasive plant early detection training at Falls of the Ohio, Aug. 26 A summit on dealing with a new invasive threat spreading along the Ohio River will be offered on Friday, Aug. 26, from 9:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Falls of the Ohio State Park. The Southern Indiana Cooperative Weed Management Area and Falls of the Ohio are raising awareness of the new threat, Japanese chaff flower. This aggressive plant is already found in seven states. Training also will focus on the importance of early detection when managing invasive plants. Society of American Foresters has approved the summit for three hours of category 1-CF credit.
